Mini Steel Plant with ABP Induction Meltshop at Sree Rengaraaj Ispat in final stage of construction

At the ABP Induction Meltshop:2 x (2 x IFM 8/18 t; 6,1 MW TWIN-POWER

Planting a heavenly tree in front of the new plant facility

A delegation of ABP Induction visited on May 27th the new Mini Steel Plant of Sree Rengaraaj Ispat (P) Ltd, Perundurai, Erode Dist - in state of Tamil Nadu, India together with their directors and managers. It was very impressive to see the plant in the final stage of erection.

The new mini steel plant by Sree Rengaraaj Ispat with an Induction Meltshop from ABP, consisting of 2 sets of induction furnace in tandem configuration - 2 x IFM 8/18 t; 6,0 MW, TWIN-POWERR and one ladle refining furnace - LRF 35/7 MVA, and proposed 35 T EAF is designed for more than 200.000 t/a of Alloy Steel and Stainless Steel production.

At present, the induction furnaces will melt DRI and steel scrap. The molten metal will be transferred by ladle/ladle car to the ABP ladle refining furnace. Further the liquid metal will be poured into the 2 strand continuous casting machine to produce quality steel billets.

The steel complex already have sponge iron production facility which will provide input raw material to the induction furnace and upcoming captive power plant of 30 MW will ensure  power availability- all the time to the steel complex. This will make Mini steel at Rengaraaj Ispat - one of the most productive and unique one for Alloy Steel and Stainless Steel production in the region.

Planting a heavenly tree in front of the new plant facility was underlining the sustainable concept of Sree Rengaraaj Ispat to build a state of the art Mini mill Steel Plant with focus on energy efficiency and environmental friendly operation.

The Management of Sree Rengaraaj Ispat plans to start operation by end of June 2011.

ABP plants together with Customer, seeds for profitable growth and sustainability.
