Leading con-rod manufacturer opts once again for ABP

Enthalpy-controlled zone heating system. (illustration similar Type EBS 340-WK).

ABP Induction has won an order from the world’s leading con-rod manufacturer Mahle Brockhaus for the supply of an enthalpy-controlled zone heating system of the Type EBS 340-WK. The system will be integrated at Mahle Brockhaus into a fully-automatic hammer-forging line for the production of con-rods.

ABP started with enthalpy-controlled heating with the very same customer for years ago. This particularly energy-saving technology for the first time enables the adaptation of the heating profile to the individual requirements of any part. In the forging of con-rods in particular, the accuracy of the heating result is of essential importance. This order for the third Type EBS 340-WK system for Mahle Brockhaus is for ABP a valuable confirmation of its product reliability.

The EBS 340-WK is equipped with a vibration channel and a fully-automatic quick coil-change device. ABP won the order in face of competition from a well-known German competitor. The new system is due to go into operation in March 2008.
