Tisco (Taiyuan Iron & Steel Co. Ltd.), one of the world largest stainless steel suppliers, placed an order with ABP Induction Systems GmbH, world pioneer in induction technology, to implement high performance induction furnaces in their existing steel plant in Taiyuan, China.

The project has 2 phases:

1. Installation of two 30 ton furnaces with common power supply of 24,4 MW
    for melting of FeCr and FeNi (installed and commissioned).

2. Installation of six 65t furnaces with three separate and independent
    42 MW power supplies for melting of FeCr and FeNi (erection start by
    end of July).

These induction furnace systems, delivered by ABP to TISCO, represent the highest powerful induction furnaces ever designed or made in medium frequency converter technology.

Since June 15th, 2013 and after successful erection of the equipment ABP started commissioning of the two 30 t furnaces with 24,4 MW power supply.
Different trials have been made during the commissioning phase. Mixed carbon steel scrap and pig iron, mixed steel scrap and FeCr as well as FeCr and FeMn have been charged in the furnaces.

ABP induction furnaces have fulfilled customer requirements by their strongest stability, highest safety as well as operation convenience is regard to successfully system operating at full 24,4 MW power.

Remaining true to our principles of delivering sustainable technology and environmentally friendly systems, ABP's systems are equipped with the up to date EcoTop hood for unsurpassed exhaust efficiency during charging and melting process.
