AMT IGBT Module Converter
ABP can now look back on more than 10 years of experience in IGBT (Insulated Gate Bipolar Transistor) technology for inductive melting plants.
The reasons for using the modern IGBT technology are many, amongst others:.
- The power factor (ratio of active current to idle current) is always above 0.95 due to an uncontrolled rectifier.
- The use of potential-free water cooling saves on expensive water preparation and the higher admissible flow temperature of the cooling water reduce the expenditure for the cooling water system.
Further ABP uses standardized converter modules with 250 kW respectively 750 kW per module. Using standard modules not only saves costs, it also ensures a rapid exchange, in case of defects.
The advantages at a glance:
- Modular construction
- Units at 250 kW, rated total power up to 2MW
- Flexibly adaptable to new preformance requirements
- No separate cooling system required
- High efficiency
- Longer service life through short repair times in the case of a fault
- Easy assembly and maintenance
- Better spare parts inventory
- cos φ > 0,95
